Doula Services

Pregnancy and delivering your baby is an amazing and joyful journey, no matter what that path looks like. Doulas provide additional support during the active labor and delivery process in the following ways:

  • Physical support with position changes, massage, counter pressure, or a warm/cold compress

  • Emotional support including encouragement, reassurance, praise, and helping the birthing person and partner through fears or concerns

  • Advocacy for what the birthing person wants and assistance with communication to other provider(s)

  • Informational support with decision-making including medical procedures, use of pain medications, and understanding stages of labor

Studies show that having a doula present helps improve outcomes for both mom and baby.

What to Expect

Initial Evaluation:

  • At your first appointment, you and your therapist will go through your history in detail to get a solid foundation in understanding how your symptoms started and where you are now. She will also examine your whole body to determine what factors are influencing your symptoms so that an individualized treatment program can be designed for you, helping you see results faster.

Treatment Sessions:

  • At each additional appointment after the initial evaluation, your therapist will review your symptoms and how they've changed since your last visit. She will evaluate progress and continue to progress you when appropriate to gain strength, decrease pain, and ultimately - get you to reach your goals.
